Little, hidden treasures exposed

February 16, 2012

A friend sent me an email at 6:30 a.m. this morning.  He had found a very interesting Los Gatos artifact for sale on eBay; the color negatives of two pictures taken in September of 1980 at Mountain Charley’s when Juice Newton was giving a concert there.  I recently wrote about this concert, it was quite a big deal in its day (click here to see this article).  The pic above is one of the two negatives for sale.  So far, no one has bid on these negatives and the reserve is set at $24.95.  I was thinking that it would be cool for the Los Gatos Art Bridge to purchase these negatives and then donate them to the Los Gatos Town Library’s local history effort; “Hooked on Los Gatos.”   Art Bridge should start making its presence known and this seems like a hand in glove situation.  The problem is that Art Bridge doesn’t have any money, nor do I.  If anyone would like to donate to this potential purchase, it would be greatly appreciated.  However, the auction at eBay will close in six days to, so if the are going to be donations, let’s not wait too long.  This is definitely  something that shouldn’t hang around in a shoe box in an attic for the next 30 years until it evaporates.   Especially in some OTHER town.

Let me know it you are interested.
